Auburn Tigers: analyzing spring football practice

Good news for Auburn Tigers in the secondary
The most promising news about the defense was in the secondary. Auburn forced five turnovers in the scrimmage, four of which were interceptions. The offense may have been without Stidham but that’s still promising news for a group that has to replace a couple of three-year starting safeties in Tray Matthews and Stephen Roberts along with a three-year starting cornerback in Carlton Davis.
Of course, while they may have to replace multiple three-year starters, none of the new guys are actually new. Jermiah Dinson started as the Nickel last year and Daniel Thomas has rotated all over for the past two seasons. Corners Javaris Davis and Jamel Dean have rotated the starting spot opposite Carlton Davis, and they both started in the bowl against UCF.
So these guys may be new to starting roles, but they’re not lacking on experience.
