Bold talk from an Auburn commitment followed Georgia’s big recruiting weekend. Should Georgia football fans worry about Jadon Haselwood?

“We’re going to flip Haselwood.” That bark at Georgia football is from Auburn’s top ranked prospect, five-star linebacker Owen Pappoe, to Tom Green of AL.com.

Jadon Haselwood of Cedar Grove  is the top ranked receiver, national number three overall prospect, and the current cherry on the top of Georgia football’s mouth-watering 2019 recruiting class.

Pappoe’s optimism springs from Haselwood’s many visits to the Auburn campus. Optimism also springs from Haselwood’s relationship with Auburn commits Bo Nix and George Pickens, Haselwood’s 7-on7 teammates.

What Pappoe doesn’t get is that what makes Haselwood a well-traveled recruit is the same thing that keeps him locked in on Georgia.

As Haselwood explained to Jeff Sentell of Dawgnation.com, “That’s just my personality and I am stubborn.”

Georgia football coaches are not complaining about Haselwood’s weekend social schedule, because they do get it.

If Haselwwod stays firm and with recent 2018 Georgia transfer Demtris Robinson, the Bulldogs will field Georgia high school football’s top two rated pass catchers this century in 2019.

Talent’s phone always rings

Stubborn or not, no team is going to give up recruiting a talent like Haselwood, and Auburn is not the only team working his phone.

When asked which teams are hardest on him, Haselwood told Bud Elliot of SBNation. “Auburn, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Florida State, and Miami.” All five will likely receive an official visit.

Miami in particular caught Haselwood’s eye, and he brought a large family contingent to enjoy the Hurricanes’ “Paradise” camp with him.

“My cousins even came,” Haselwood told Jeff Sentell of Dawgnation.com. “But they drove. It was a 10-hour drive.”
