Number four: 2008 Alabama 34 Clemson 10

Another beginning of sorts for Alabama under head coach Nick Saban in his second season with the Crimson Tide. Alabama rolled to an easy victory in the opener of the 2008 season over Clemson 34-10. It was the beginning of a dynasty for the Alabama Crimson Tide and Saban who went 12-1 that season, the only loss to Florida in the SEC championship.

For Clemson it was an ending and a brighter beginning as head coach Tommy Bowden resigned six games into the season, five games after this loss, . Then came the brighter beginning Clemson chose wide receivers coach Dabo Swinney to replace him and the rest is history. With out this Tide and Tigers game fate could be very different for both programs. Including a longer term for Bowden and may be less successful future for the Clemson Tigers.
