Top five Alabama Crimson Tide versus Clemson Tigers matchups
By Jeremy Grace
Number two: 2018 Alabama 24 Clemson 6
The Alabama Crimson Tide came in to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans as the number four seed and didn’t play in the SEC championship or win their conference. They came to prove they belonged in the College Football Playoff and were matched up against number one Clemson. The game was remotely close at one point 10-6 Alabama with a small lead, but the Tide turned the momentum and never looked back.
Alabama won on a strong defensive effort holding the Tiger offense to 188 yards and winning 24-6 in the semi-final playoff game. That set up for Alabama and Georgia to play an all SEC National championship. The Crimson Tide would win in an overtime classic 26-23 over the Bulldogs for the national title.
