Kentucky Football: Early Look at Benny Snell’s Replacements
CHRIS RODRIGUEZ
Chris Rodriguez saw some minor action in 2018 but could be another who steps up and stands out in the 2019 football season.
Out of all three running backs, Rodriguez built is the most like Snell. During his recruiting process, he was compared to him.
He is 5-11 218 pounds. According to his Hudl, he runs a 4.9 forty-yard dash. This guys is the ground and pound back that will run over defenders and make them miss as he scoots by them.

After only two carries last year, Rodriguez appears like he has something to prove and that he is ready to compete. Like Snell, he runs mean. Kentucky will likely be looking for someone who has that mean streak in him, and Rodriguez does.
He is a good back and has the qualities to beat out Rose for the top spot. However, depending on how spring goes, Rose and Rodriguez could end up sharing the load at running back.
If Rose and Rodriguez end up having to share carries, they both could still rack up some serious yards.
Rose could strategically run through the tackles while Rodriguez would run over tacklers. Both are guys that can get those chunk yards.
Either way, there is still one more player to go that wants in on the competition and has a mean streak to him as well.
