HYPE SURROUNDING BRYANT IS THAT, HYPE

Bryant led the Clemson Tigers to the 2017 College Football playoffs, an ACC Title, and a 16-2 record as a starter.

During his career at Clemson, he was a great leader, did his job and everyone loved him. He made impressive plays and had moments where he shined.

However,  Bryant reminds me a lot of when Greyson Lambert came to Georgia after losing the starting job at Virginia.

More from Southbound and Down

WhenLambert lost the starting job he chose to transfer to Georgia. Fans sang his praises and knew that he would help the Bulldogs succeed.

Once he got to Athens, he became the starter and help lead Georgia to a 10-3 record and win over Penn State in the Tax Slayer Bowl.

Then, he started in the opening game of the 2016 season against North Carolina. After the first drive, true-freshman, Jacob Eason came in, took over, and ended up starting the rest of the season.

Sound familiar?

The two have a lot of similar qualities, and both got beat out by two quarterbacks that are much more talented than them. However, the difference is Lambert stuck it out at Georgia.

Granted it was before the new transfer rules, but still, he stuck it out and helped from the sidelines and in practice.

Bryant chose to transfer and left the Clemson Tigers in the middle of the season.

In my opinion, that isn’t something a leader does. A true leader sticks it out, helps out his teammates and instead of being ‘that’ guy on the field, he helps the new guy out any way he can.

The hype that surrounded Bryant will be just that, hype. He should have stayed with Clemson his final year and swiped left on transferring all together.
