SEC Basketball is in full conference mode as every team fights their way to get in the SEC and the NCAA tournament. Here are the top 10 SEC basketball games to check out before March Madness begins.

The 2018-2019 SEC basketball season has been a fun one to watch. With three teams like Tennessee, Kentucky, and LSU the closer tournament season gets here, the more excited I get.

There is a little over a month left in the regular season. In the most current AP top-25 rankings, the SEC has three in the top 25 and two in the top five.

Kentucky ranks No. 4, Tennessee sits at No. 5 in the AP poll, and LSU is the No. 13 overall team.

Those three teams are all likely to make deep runs in the NCAA tournament, and two of them will likely face off for an SEC Championship.

LSU already showed that they could sneak up on teams and even defeated Kentucky in Rupp Arena.

More from Southbound and Down

Tennessee needs to keep an eye on those Tigers, but more importantly the Wildcats who knocked them off its throne. LSU could be gaining momentum at the right time and could shock some people in the last few weeks.

After those three teams, the SEC can be unpredictable. Some schools are inconsistent like Georgia and Vanderbilt; then there are teams like South Carolina, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State on the cusp of things.

Despite the big drop off, the SEC could have a pretty good showing in the NCAA tournament.

Ole Miss is a team that came out of nowhere and even swept the Auburn Tigers this season. After finishing last with only five SEC wins last season, the Rebels have won eight conference games and sit in fifth place.

They are a tough group and a disciplined one. Not to mention the Rebels have one of the best shooters in the league.

Auburn finished No. 1 in the SEC last season but has struggled to stay consistent this year. If the Tigers want to make a run in the tournament, they better find some chemistry and beat some teams.

I looked at the remaining matchups for the season and noticed way too many good games that fans should watch.

Right now, the SEC could get up to six in the tournament if the cards fall right. Those six schools are Tennessee, Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Auburn. South Carolina is the seventh team in consideration.

These five games could potentially decide who gets in and who gets booted.
