Georgia baseball hosts “The Man”: LSU baseball
A horse to ride
The Big Red and Black Machine is in high gear, now, not only rolling over tradition laden number 22 ranked South Carolina last weekend, but doing it on the road and in style.
Georgia opened the South Carolina series with a strong-armed inning-eating Friday night horse on the mound, Emerson Hancock. Hancock brought a 0.38 ERA in four starts to Columbia. He made his case as one of the top Friday starters in America with twelve strikeouts in seven innings against the Gamecocks.
An elite team has an elite Friday night starter, and the Gamecocks Brady Allen said this. “[Hancock’s] definitely the best pitcher I’ve ever seen. Good velocity, good stuff, good control and good stamina.”
Plate persistence
On Saturday, the Bulldogs demonstrated their resilience at the plate, three times overcoming deficits in the successive half inning to eventually win 8-7.
“They hit everything that was placed,” said South Carolina Saturday starter Reid Morgan. “Anything I threw outside, they took the other way. They have a good eye. They see pitches down, and they see pitches up, and when they see pitches up, they rip it and get a hit.”
