Georgia baseball takes on The Man

Edward G. Robinson couldn’t be cast as “The Man” any better than LSU baseball. LSU joined the NCAA Championship field 18 times in the last 32 years and claimed six NCAA Championships.

The Bengal tigers won four of five games last week, including the three-game sweep of Kentucky to start Southeastern Conference play and match challenger Georgia. The Dawgs will have to draw better than a full house to beat this LSU baseball team.

The Bulldog’s hand

It’s early, but the Georgia baseball pitching staff was a strike out factory last weekend with 41 across 27 innings for a very early SEC league lead against nine walks. It will face an LSU lumber yard with an early .393 on base percentage to also lead the league, as well as a league leading 19 walks. On Friday, monitor Dawg strikeouts and LSU base runners to get an early feel for how this series might go.

If all goes to script, the team that can turn a couple of double plays will likely take the series.
