SEC Basketball Loaded with Seven Teams in 2019 NCAA Tournament
SEC Basketball has seven teams in the big dance. The conference looks to make a dent in the NCAA Tournament and hopefully have an SEC team win it all.
After a conference record eight teams in last years tournament, SEC Basketball has it’s second most ever with seven teams in the 2019 tournament.

Those seven SEC teams are LSU, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Mississippi State.
Over the last two years, the SEC has had 15 NCAA Tournament selections. The only other conference with more is the ACC which has 16.
On a side note, Alabama and Arkansas received selections to the NIT Tournament. The Tide makes its sixth appearance in the last nine years. As for the Razorbacks, this selection marks Arkansas third consecutive postseason appearance and fifth in six years.

In total, the conference had nine representatives in postseason tournaments this year.
The round of 64 starts Thursday, March 21 and ends on March 22. Four SEC teams play on the 21st and the other three on the 22nd.
In opening rounds, SEC teams are 31-9 over the past five years. The SEC went a perfect 7-0 in 2014, 6-2 in 2015, 5-2 in 2016, 5-3 in 2017, and 7-2 in 2018
Since 2012, SEC teams are 54-30 overall. All 14 teams have made at least one appearance in the NCAA Tournament in the last five years.
Both the regular season SEC champs and the SEC Tournament champs received top-five seeds in this years NCAA Tournament. LSU is a No. 3 seed while Auburn is a No. 5 seed.
