SEC football predictions: Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State

Georgia Bulldogs: #1 defense in the nation

There’s a couple of questions that the Bulldogs will eventually have to answer offensively, but the defense is returning an abundance of talented guys ranging from Nolan Smith and Nakobe Dean to Tyrique Stevenson and Travon Walker. If Kirby can get the offense going, expect for the defense to provide a nice compliment to it.

Kentucky Wildcats: Wildcats take a step back in 2020

Kentucky football relied on Lynn Bowden in more ways than just one in 2019. Actually, they leaned on him for complete offensive production as he led the team in rushing and receiving yards while finishing second in passing. It will be interesting to see how Stoops adjusts to the severe loss in 2020. If the Wildcats struggle in the quarterback department, we may finally see true regression for the program next season.

LSU Tigers: Tigers reach playoffs, again

LSU will look to avoid the possible hangover from 2019’s success. It appears that many are counting the Tigers out in 2020, but don’t be so sure of it. If Myles Brennan can become half the quarterback that was Joe Burrow, we may see another championship run. And thanks to the return of Ja’marr Chase and many other defensive starters, it’s very possible.

Mississippi State Bulldogs: K.J. Costello leads the conference

Mike Leach proved to torch teams in the pass-heavy Pac 12 conference, but transitioning to SEC football will be much different. All of the same can be said of the former All-Pac 12 second team quarterback- K.J. Costello. This is the first season that Costello has a respectable offensive line in pass protection. If they can keep him healthy, the Bulldogs and Costello may be in store for a very productive season.
