Transfer Additions:

  • CB Eli Ricks
  • WR Jermaine Burton
  • RB Jahmyr Gibbs
  • OT Tyler Steen
  • WR Tyler Harrell

Even despite having not added as many transfers through the portal as other SEC Football teams this offseason, you could certainly say that the Crimson Tide’s pickups will be some of the most-impactful of all.

Headlining this group is LSU transfer cornerback Eli Ricks, a former five-star recruit out of high school and two-year starter at the position with the Tigers who will certainly do the same with the Crimson Tide in 2022. Another certain day one starter for the Crimson Tide as well is Vanderbilt transfer Tyler Steen who will likely replace first round pick Evan Neal at left tackle.

The biggest impact of this group will likely be seen most at the offensive skill positions, with Georgia Tech transfer Jahmyr Gibbs instantly becoming one of Alabama’s top running backs. Georgia transfer Jermaine Burton is the likely favorite to play the role of Jameson Williams in 2022 as the Crimson Tide’s WR1, while Tyler Harrell comes from Louisville as one of the fastest wide receivers in the country.
