10. Florida Gators
Previous Ranking: 11
Rising a spot up to No. 10 this week, Florida enters the week sitting at 10-7 overall, as well as 3-2 in SEC basketball play. Since Christmas, the Gators dropped the first two games of SEC play against Auburn and Texas A&M, both of which were three-point games, but rebounded with three consecutive wins over Georgia, LSU, and Missouri.
Now on a three-game winning streak, the Gators will now travel this Wednesday to College Station for a showdown with Texas A&M. Florida will then travel once again Saturday for a matchup with Mississippi State in Starkville.
9. Mississippi State Bulldogs
Previous Ranking: 5
Speaking of the Bulldogs, Mississippi State (12-5 overall, 1-4 in SEC) was one of the biggest teams to fall in this week’s update, dropping four spots to No. 9. The Bulldogs have lost five of their last six games dating back to December 20 against Drake, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, and Auburn, with their lone win coming at home over Ole Miss, 64-54.
Looking ahead, the Bulldogs will be looking to get back on their winning ways from earlier this season, starting this Tuesday with a tough rematch against Tennessee at home. Mississippi State will also host Florida on Saturday night.
