10. Mississippi State Bulldogs

Previous Ranking: 9

Mississippi State drops a spot this week coming off what has simply been a slow start to SEC play, currently sitting at 12-7 overall, as well as 1-6 in conference play. The Bulldogs suffered a pair of home defeats this past week, which came against Tennessee, 70-59, as well as Florida, 61-59.

Currently on a four-game losing streak, Mississippi State will travel to Tuscaloosa this upcoming Wednesday for a matchup against Alabama, whom the Bulldogs previously fell to, 78-67, about a month ago. Mississippi State will then host TCU on Saturday in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge.

9. Georgia Bulldogs

Previous Ranking: 7

One of the biggest teams to drop this week was Georgia, as the Bulldogs went 0-2 across the last week to fall to 13-6 overall, as well as 3-3 in SEC play. Georgia’s first loss of the week came Tuesday night at Kentucky, 85-71, with the Bulldogs then falling at home Saturday to Vanderbilt, 85-82.

Georgia looking ahead has a tough matchup to begin this week Wednesday night, as the Bulldogs are set to face Tennessee in Knoxville. Georgia will also host South Carolina on Saturday in an SEC basketball showdown.
