10. Florida Gators
Previous Ranking: 7
Dropping three spots this week to No. 10 is Florida, as the Gators now sit at 13-12 overall, as well as 6-6 in the SEC. The Gators are also coming off an 0-2 week on the hardwood, which began with a 97-69 road loss at Alabama on Wednesday, and was followed by a defeat against Vanderbilt at home Saturday, 88-80.
The Gators will now remain at home Wednesday night as Florida is set to welcome Ole Miss to Gainesville. Florida will then travel Saturday to Fayetteville for an intriguing SEC basketball showdown with Arkansas.
9. Vanderbilt Commodores
Previous Ranking: 11
One of the biggest risers of this week’s update was Vanderbilt (13-12 overall, 6-6 in SEC), as the Commodores jump two spots up to No. 9. The Commodores are coming off one of the most impressive weeks of any SEC team, one that included a 66-65 home upset over Tennessee on Wednesday in which the Commodores won on a buzzer-beating three by Tyrin Lawrence, as well as an 88-80 win at Florida on Saturday.
Now on a three-game winning streak, Vanderbilt will remain on the road for their midweek contest, with the Commodores traveling to South Carolina on Tuesday. Vanderbilt will then return home Saturday for a big SEC basketball matchup against Auburn.
