10. Auburn Tigers

Previous Ranking: 10

The first team to remain in their preseason spot is Auburn here at No. 10, as the Tigers are coming off a 12-3 overall start to the 2023 season. While having dropped their most recent series against Southeastern Louisiana, the Tigers do own series’ wins over teams such as Indiana, USC, and Lipscomb, while also having compiled midweek wins over the likes of UAB and at Jacksonville State.

Auburn now has a tough week ahead on the diamond, one that will begin Tuesday night against Georgia Tech at home. The Tigers will then travel to Arkansas to open SEC baseball play this weekend.

9. Vanderbilt Commodores

Previous Ranking: 7

Coming off a 12-5 overall start to the season, while is tied for the highest loss total among SEC teams, Vanderbilt drops two spots to No. 9 in this week’s update. The Commodores season so far is likely headlined by a home series win over UCLA, with Vanderbilt also holding notable wins over the likes of Texas, Oklahoma State, Maryland, and UAB, while also having lost to noteworthy opponents including TCU and Nebraska.

The Commodores will now host Belmont for their midweek contest before beginning SEC baseball play later this week. That will come at home in Nashville in one of the conference’s top weekend series’ against Ole Miss.
