Power rankings for Week 3 of the SEC
By John Makuch
12. Kentucky Wildcats
Kentucky has officially confused the entire nation. After pushing Georiga to the brink, you would think the Wildcats have been a great team all season long and are a borderline contender in this conference. But no, they just lost 31-6 to a struggling South Carolina squad. There may now be questions about Georgia, but the Wildcats deserve credit even in a 13-12 loss.
Brock Vandagriff can handle this offense, but it is all about taking that next step and being a true leader for this unit. But when you have only scored 18 points in SEC play so far, something has to give with this team. They get a good chance to tune up against Ohio, and they need to get back to .500 there. But once this offense gets figured out, there are a ton of things to be excited about when it comes to the defense and their ability to run stuff.
11. Arkansas Razorbacks
The Arkansas Razorbacks have a ton of NIL support and should develop as a premiere program in the next few years, but this year they have not done a ton to recognize yet. They almost took down Oklahoma State on the road but fell in double overtime.
UAB stayed in their most recent game for such a long time though, so it is hard to rank the Razorbacks any higher than here. That Auburn game next week will be huge for this squad, and they need to make a statement heading into a tough stretch of their schedule.
