SEC Baseball Player of the Year Award Power Rankings
10. RHP Luke Holman (LSU)
Luke Holman gave up his first runs of the season this past weekend against Mississippi State, but his outing wasn't bad overall and his numbers remain stellar for the year. On Friday, Holman went 4 2/3 innings with 2 ER, 3 K's, and one walk.
For the season, Holman now has a 4-1 record, an SEC-leading 0.63 ERA, a 43:5 K/BB ratio, and is holding opponents to just a .176 Batting Average in 28 2/3 IP (5 starts). His 43 strikeouts ranks 2nd in the conference. Holman will have his work cut out for him this weekend as LSU takes on a potent Florida lineup.
9. 3B Tommy White (LSU)
Last week's ranking: Honorable Mention
Tommy White has started looking like Tommy Tanks again, and thus has worked his way into our top 10 for the first time this season (and very well might quickly work his way up). Last week, White hit 7-of-21 with 3 HR, one double, 7 RBI, and 7 runs scored.
On the year, White now has a .321 Batting Average, a .414 OBP, a .536 SLG, (.950 OPS) with 5 HR, 3 doubles, 19 RBI, and 17 runs scored. Again, the Tigers will take on Florida this weekend in a rematch of last year's CWS Championship Series.
