College towns are just fun, especially during sporting events. In the SEC, these towns take on personalities of their own and have become more than just a destination for parties, but for a great place to live and work as well.
We put together a panel of people to talk about and rank the 14 SEC college towns. We asked our voters to consider not only game days, but restaurants, night life, aesthetic quality, shopping, and location, as well as stadiums and auditoriums.
Our panelists were:
Josh Barnhill – Editor, Maroon and White Nation
Chris Hale – Editor, Bama Hammer
Zach Ragan – Editor, All For Tennessee
Nicholas Ian Allen – Columnist, FanSided.com
Josh Criswell – Editor, Death Valley Voice
Patrick Schmidt – Editor, Saturday Blitz
Caleb Calhoun – Editor, Saturday Blitz
Ken Cross – Staff Writer, Southbound and Down
Lee Wardlaw – Staff Writer, Southbound and Down
Michael Collins – Editorial Director, FanSided College Division
Here’s how the 14 SEC college towns were ranked, with number of first and last place votes noted, as well as quotes from some of our panelists.
