The Rest of the SEC Football Field

South Carolina Gamecocks at Tennessee Volunteers (-3.5)
12:00 pm – Neyland Stadium, Knoxville, Tn.

The fact the Volunteers are getting 3.5 points in this game is nothing short of amazing. South Carolina is coming off a big win over Arkansas, and while they might be out of the SEC East race, they would probably love to be the final act in the Butch Jones saga.

Jones is as lame of a lame duck coach as you’ll find in the FBS right now, and this will be his swan song. Carolina in the “upset” over the Vols, who will spend the rest of the season with an interim coach from Jones’ staff.

Vanderbilt Commodores at Ole Miss Rebels (-3.5)
3:30 pm – Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, Oxford. Ms.

Both teams have lost three straight games. Both teams desperately need a win to even think about becoming bowl eligible.

More from Southbound and Down

Ole Miss has beaten no one (well, South Alabama and UT Martin). Vandy has beaten Kansas State and did something no other SEC team has done against Georgia this year – score a touchdown.

Advantage, Commodores. Take them in the upset.

Texas A&M Aggies at Florida Gators (-2.5)
7:00 pm – Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Gainesville, Fl.

Kevin Sumlin is another coach on the hot seat, and the Aggies have been doing it with smoke and mirrors this season. That said, the Aggies only two losses this season are to some pretty good teams, Alabama and UCLA. Maybe they aren’t that bad after all?

The Gators just suffered a rare home loss to LSU, and the up-and-down offense looked about as down as you could get. Florida isn’t fighting for their coach’s job, but they do still think they have an outside shot at the SEC East title.

Call it a bounce back game for Florida and a return to reality for TAMU. Gators cover.
