The Unranked SEC Football Field

Idaho Vandals at Missouri Tigers (-14)
12:00 pm – Memorial Stadium, Columbia, Mo.

Missouri showed some signs of life against Georgia last week, and a game against a weak Sun Belt team is just what the 1-5 Tigers need to get things back on track. Missouri doesn’t hold much hope for bowl eligibility, but they can at least outscore a defense who has given up 25.5 points per game this season.

Tigers should easily cover two touchdowns, and it should be a good day for Drew Lock.

Just a P.S. on this trap game – if Missouri somehow loses, consider it the end of the line for Barry Odom

Kentucky Wildcats at Mississippi State Bulldogs (-12)
4:00 pm – Davis Wade Stadium, Starkville, Ms.

This may be the toughest SEC football game of the week to pick, simply because nobody knows which Mississippi State team will show up. The Bulldogs have been the most inconsistent team in the conference this season, with every game being a blowout in one direction of the other. The one thing they can do is score points quickly.

Kentucky is only one game behind Georgia in the SEC East standings, so for them this is a must-win game if they want to keep pace and hold out hope for a shot at winning the division. However, as witnessed in the debacle against Florida, the Wildcats pass defense is practically non-existent, which means MSU quarterback Nick Fitzgerald may have a career type day.

As important as this game is to Kentucky, they’ll be overmatched on the road. Take MSU to cover a couple of touchdowns.
