4. Georgia Bulldogs
Sure, they are ranked second in the nation, but Georgia has not looked like Georgia just yet. Even against Clemson, they took their sweet time getting their offense open, and the final score was more of a result of Clemson not having any sort of cohesion on both sides of the ball.
The Bulldogs do not have the skill positions to flex like they did last year, and it will take a player to emerge as a star for this team to win a National Championship. Defensively, they look great as always, but will it be enough to hold off some of these elite SEC offenses?
Any Kirby Smart team is one to be reckoned with, so ranking them outside of the top three may age poorly, but based on their performance so far they just have not looked like the Georgia that was dominant against just about everybody.
3. Alabama Crimson Tide
Alabama and Georgia will take each other on in a couple of weeks, and that will be a huge marker as to where they both are after some turnaround in coaching and roster.
For the Crimson Tide, they still look like a top team in the nation and have blown out everybody they have played. Their recent game on the road against Wisconsin was impressive, to say the least, and they handled the Badgers with ease in a tough environment.
Jalen Milroe has been impressive as a signal caller, and the offense is on a different level so far as Kalen DeBoer is elite at recruiting skill position talent. This is a new era of Alabama football, but they still look great as ever, and have a huge opportunity to take a couple of weeks off, and prepare for a huge game against Georgia at home.
