After a disappointing start to the 2015 season, the Arkansas football team managed to secure a bowl bid and winning record in the SEC (a first under Bielema).  Can they also set a record for wins under Bielema?

The Arkansas Razorbacks were supposed to be a darkhorse contender entering the 2015 season.  An early season 3 game skid that included a loss to Toledo erased any possibility of that being a reality.  The Arkansas football team found a way to win 5 of their last 6, however.

Much like Tennessee, if Arkansas can win their bowl game the hype train will resume where it left off last offseason.  Standing in the Arkansas football team’s way is Kansas State.

Kansas State doesn’t not have any signature wins.

Kansas State’s best win is a home win against West Virginia.

Kansas State is 6-6.

The Arkansas football team should win this one easily.  But don’t ever discount a Kansas State team with Bill Snyder as the coach.

How Arkansas can win:  The Razorbacks will need another solid performance from both Brandon Allen and Alex Collins.  Both have been hot as of late, having led Arkansas to over 50 point performances in 4 of their last 6 games.  The defense will not be tested too much.  If the Razorbacks continue performing way the have lately, this game should be won in easily.

How Arkansas can lose:  There shouldn’t be a lack of motivation here, as Bielema is loved by his players.  They know they need to continue winning if they want to keep Bielema off the hot seat.  You can never tell about a team entering a bowl game, though.  If Arkansas comes out and fails to play motivated football, you can bet Snyder will have his Wildcats ready to take advantage.

Predictions:

John:  The only reason Arkansas is in this game is due to early season struggles.  The offense clicked for the second half of the season and the more talented Razorbacks will represent Arkansas football well with a dominating win.  I’ll take Arkansas 38-10.

Ben:  Which Arkansas team is going to show up?  I feel like Bret Bielema is the Rex Ryan of the NCAA.  He can always be counted on for a quote, an absolute joy to listen to while being interviewed, and his team always has it in them to beat anybody…….aaannnnnnd his team always has it in them to lose to anybody.  I think Arkansas shows up and wins this game based on talent alone, but it will be close.  Arkansas 28 Kansas State 27.

Neal:  Give me the Razorbacks in this game.
