SEC Football: Which Heisman Candidate is Most Likely to Win?
We just completed a ‘buy or sell’ series on the Heisman hopefuls from SEC football. Now we give you a chance to vote on who is most likely to win.
SEC football is the greatest in the country. At least if you ask us. We’ve got the championships, coaches and players to prove it. 2016 will be no different and 5 SEC football stars made the list of players to receive betting odds to win the Heisman.
The SEC football stars to make the list were running backs Leonard Fournette (LSU) and Nick Chubb (Georgia), quarterbacks Chad Kelly (Ole Miss) and Joshua Dobbs (Tennessee) and wide receiver Calvin Ridley (Alabama). Every player besides Ridley to make the list was either a receiver or running back. The position favoritism has always bothered me when it comes to the Heisman, but this isn’t the place to vent about that.
Instead, this is the place to let the readers vote on who you think has a chance to win the Heisman. We’ve covered each player and told you whether we would buy or sell that player’s chances. Just as a disclaimer, we does not mean consensus. We actually means me in this case. Sorry guys and gals.

You can click the links if you want a more detailed breakdown. I’ll give you the synopsis for each player here, though. Let’s hope one can bring another Heisman to SEC football.
Joshua Dobbs: His link. Dobbs is supremely talented and is in his third year at quarterback under Butch Jones. He is very inconsistent, though, particularly in the passing game.
Calvin Ridley: His link. Ridley will likely be the focal point of Alabama’s offense in the mold of Amari Cooper in Kiffin’s first year. If Cooper couldn’t win the Heisman, though, I don’t know what wide receiver can.
Nick Chubb: His link. Chubb has put up ridiculous numbers as long as he’s been healthy and churns out 100+ yard games like it is nothing. The question here is whether or not he can stay healthy.
Chad Kelly: His link. Kelly produced the third most total yards in a single season in SEC history in his first year at Ole Miss. He loses an elite left tackle and wide receiver to the NFL, though.
Leonard Fournette: His link. Fournette produced Heisman numbers the first half of the season and it wasn’t even close. He still plays in Cam Cameron’s offense without a quarterback, limiting his potential.
Now you know, it’s time to vote.
